Retired and New Life
One year before my retirement, about 6 years ago, I began using crack cocaine. After I retired, it just took over, I was drinking off and on and smoking all the time.

When you’re born on the south side of Chicago, with 12 brothers and sisters, it doesn’t matter much that your dad is a hard working, God fearing man and your mom a strong church lady. Most of your raising is done by your older siblings and their friends. That’s my story.

  Bouncing Ball Bounces to Jesus 
If I were titling my story I would name it “Bad Breaks and Worse Choices”. My mom and dad never married, and though I had 2 brothers and a sister they were grown and gone by the time I was 5. Then my mom died when I was 6. My older siblings tried to care for me, by age 10 I was in a foster care home.
Foster care was just more of the same. The parents in the home separated. I stayed with the mom for three years, but by age 12 I was drinking and smoking. Then I tried moving in with one of my sisters. That lasted until they caught me smoking Pot in my room. They didn’t want that around my nieces and nephews.
